Here at Spaces bespoke joinery we offer a full joinery service to both domestic and commercial clients. Below is a list of the main items that we manufacture, however, if you have a requirement that isn't listed below, give us a call and we can discuss it with you.
Kitchens
We offer a full design, build and installation service. The benefits of a hand built kitchen are many, in fact there are too many to list here. The main one being that you can have exactly what you want! If you can draw it, or describe it so that we can draw it, we can build it. There are no restrictions on the type of timber or the colour. Units can be built to any dimension required, so if you have an awkward space you aren't forced to have a 'handy' tea-towel rack when you don't need one! We are quite happy to visit you to discuss your plans, at no obligation.(we don't have pushy sales people).
People are often worried about commissioning a hand built kitchen because of the perceived cost involved. Whilst we don't offer a "budget" option you will find that our prices are comparable to many of the high street stores.
Doors
Whether you are looking for a door to match the period of you house, which we can advise you on, or a replacement of an existing door, we can do it.
Over the years we have seen and made all kinds of interesting doors, front doors, back doors, stable doors, french doors, partially glazed doors, fully glazed doors, doors that slide, doors that swing - well you get the picture. If you give us a call, we can talk to you about your options and, if necessary, arrange a visit.
Windows
It's no surprise that there are many wonderful examples of timber windows in and around every village, town and city in the country that date back 100's of years. It's also no surprise that there are not so many wonderful examples of plastic or aluminium windows that are 15, 10 or even 5 years old. Timber windows, whether they are sliding sash windows or casements, really add character to a property. Well maintained timber windows will last a lifetime. It's a common misconception that they require annual maintenance. Infact, they require painting when new using linseed oil paint then oiled after 7 years and repainted after a further 7 years - in other words only a 14 year maintenance cycle which is probably the lifespan of a typical plastic window! Research shows that a period property that doesn't have appropriate timber windows, will be valued significantly less than one that does.
Modern timber windows perform as well as any other form of window in terms of insulation, draught-proofing and security. We offer a selection of modern timber options.
Built in Furniture
Does your bedroom lack storage? Perhaps you have an alcove that is crying out for a built in cupboard or bookshelves? Perhaps you are working from home more often and would like a workstation built discreetly into the corner of a room or alcove or even a fully functioning office.
We can build cupboards, shelves, wardrobes, bookcases, desks, or whatever you need into the space you have. We can use our experience and design knowledge to maximise the space to your requirements and provide the best solution possible.
Stairs
Whatever your stair requirements, we here at Spaces have probably seen it, built it and installed it before! We design your stairs for you to conform to building regulations. We can then build your stairs from your desired timber, and install them at your convenience.
Cabinet Making
It is true that many Joiners are really cabinet makers that need to make a living. That is true of the guys at Spaces too. Whilst we all would like to build speculative pieces of furniture that sell for thousands of pounds, the economics simply don't justify it. So, we turn to joinery to fulfil our love of working with wood and to make a living. However, every now and again we get a commission to build a freestanding piece of furniture, chair or table. This is where our dedication to the wood cause pays off, and you will often find us working late into the night on these pieces either getting lost in the design, or perfecting a detail. We just enjoy it.
Retail Display/Exhibition Stands
If you have a specific requirement for retail or commercial needs we can help. We have experience in manufacturing showroom displays and Point of Sale units for national retailers and local independent shops. We have also built units for exhibitions that need to look good, but be robust and portable.
